HTTP Search Sources.

FirstStop queries search sources and receives results using the HTTP protocol. This is the standard protocol used by web sites (that's why many web addresses you see start with http://, i.e. http://www.google.com or http://search.com).

This means that almost any search engine that works in your web browser can be added as a search source to FirstStop WebSearch.

This also means that not-http search engines cannot be integrated into FirstStop. Note: http search engines working over SSL are not supported either.

Another restriction is search engines must send their results in plain text based formats (e.g. HTML, XML, CSV). Actually, this is the way most search engines send their search results.
