Performing updates

When you start FirstStop WebSearch™ for the first time, you will be asked to check for updates. To ensure that you have the latest engines, it is highly recommended that you let FirstStop WebSearch™ check for and apply all updates.

Later you can manually initiate updates or, if you have scheduled a reminder, an update will automatically start once a week or once a month based on your settings.

Manual start of the engine update:

1. Ensure that you are connected to the Internet.
2. From the "File" menu, choose "Update Engines".



3. Then you can do one of the following:

• Click "Start" in the "Engine Update" dialog box to start the update process.
• Click "Options" to change your settings.
• Click "Cancel" if you don't want to check the updates right now.

4. If you chose to perform the update, upon completion you can see the details of the update by clicking the "Details >>" button. Also, you will see the latest FirstStop WebSearch™ news. To read more news, click the web link labeled "more...".

5. Click "Finish" to close the "Engine Update" dialog.
