Filter Results:

To hone your results even further, FirstStop WebSearch™ allows you to filter results by inclusion or exclusion of a word/phrase in the specified column.

FirstStop WebSearch™ supports two modes of filtering:
Simple
Advanced

Simple filter:
1. From the "Results" menu, select "Filter" and then "Simple". A new tool bar will appear just beneath the "Search for:" edit box. Or simply, click the "Filter" button filter button from the toolbar and continue to step 2.

2. In the "Column" drop-down list, select the column to which you want to apply the filter (i.e., Title, URL, etc.)

3. Determine the method that you want to use to filter the results. In the far right-hand drop-down list, select either "Include" (if you want to only show the results that contain specific information) or "Exclude" (if you want to only show the results that do not contain specific information).

4. Type a filter value in the "Filter:" edit box. As you type, the results viewer will leave only those results that conform to the filter condition.

Advanced filter:
Advanced filter is used when you need complex queries with boolean operators in the filter. It works the same way except for the following:
Filters don't work while you are typing in the query. To apply the filter, you must explicitly click the advanced filter button button in the "Filter:" edit box.

Disabling filter:
To disable the filter and to show all results, either click the "Filter" button filter button on the toolbar or select "Filter" from the "Results" menu and then "None".
