custom search mode Custom Search
This is the most powerful search mode. It combines "All Words," "Any Word," and "Phrase" search modes plus allows the ability to indicate words that must not be contained in the results.

Note: In this mode you can edit the search query only in the Query Builder. The "Search For:" edit box will show the query string but you won't be able to modify it there.

To enter "Custom" search mode:
  From menu "Search", choose "Custom", or click the "Search Mode" button (to the right of the flash "Search" button) on the toolbar and choose edit- style 2 "Custom", or open Query Builder and on the "Query" tab, choose the "Custom" radio button.

Entering a query:

In the "All Words" edit box enter the words that must be contained in the results;
In the "Any Word" edit box enter the words at least one of which must be contained in the results;
In the "Phrase" edit box enter the words that must be consecutively contained in the results;
and
In the "Exclude Words" edit box enter the words that must not be contained in the results.

If you are searching for a dealership in Dallas or in Houston that sells Ford Focus and you are not interested in used cars, then your query might look like:

All Words:      dealership
Any Word:      Dallas Houston
Phrase:         Ford Focus
Exclude Words:    used

Note: You should enter only words important to your query. Don't insert Boolean operators, quotation marks or any other instructions, signs or operators in any of the edit boxes - they will be ignored.

To get more from the Custom search, it is recommended to carry out a Pre-Searching Analysis.
